Optical Spine and Posture Analysis
This procedure permits the natural posture of the spine to be visualised without the use of X-rays. It provides information as to the patient’s posture, control of the body, and pressure distribution on the feet. It consists of:
- Illumination of the patient’s back with parallel lines of light
- Producing a digital picture of the back from a diagonal perspective
- Mathematical reconstruction of the surface profile of the back utilising a wave pattern, from which the position of the spine is determined
- Imaging and analysing the natural posture without the use of X-rays as well as simulating the posture after the implementation of corrective measures
- Initiating specific physiotherapeutic or other measures such as correction of discrepancies in leg length by means of shoe inserts
